Creative Pixie has kittens!

Wow I can’t believe it’s a been over a month since my last blog post – sorry.

There has been some big changes in the Creative Pixie house which has meant my usual crafting time has been taken up doing other family things.

We decided to decorate the girls bedroom. It was time to say goodbye to the cot and cot bed and hello to bunk beds and huge mirrored wardrobes. After many coats of paint to cover up the magnolia on walls and the ceiling we decided to paint everything white and then have a feature wall in magenta. It looks fantastic and the children are so happy with it.

My husband started a new job which involves him commuting to work, which is not great for him health wise.  It means we have to leave the house a bit earlier in the morning and get home a little bit later but despite this he’s really enjoying it. I only hope that he stays strong enough to carry on doing it as his health is not good.

The most lovely bit of news is that we now have 2 kittens!!! We have gone from being a family of 4 to a family of 6. The kittens are 2 sisters we adopted 2 weeks ago from the Cats Protection charity. They are so beautiful and good natured for being 3 months old. What do you think of them?

Luna is black and white, Flynn is tabby and white. Some of you may recognise the names that we gave them, Luna is after Luna Lovegood from the Harry Potter books and Flynn is after Flynn Rider (Rapunzel’s boyfriend) from Tangled. Even though Flynn is a boys name we think it really suits her.

During the brief moments that I have been able to crochet I’ve been making some crochet circles in a square.

I got the pattern for the squares here. I have been using Sirdar crofter DK yarn for the multicoloured circles and the white border is Rico Baby So Soft . Eventually I hope to have enough squares to make a blanket for the living room.

So there we have it, it’s been a very busy August/September and already I’m thinking ahead to Christmas 🙂
