I don’t need to tell you what a year it has been. A year like no other and a one that I hope to never experience the like of again.
My Husband has been shielding and is now working from home. Me and my girls were off school from March to August.
Thankfully we have a large back garden so a good deal of the warmer months were spent outside. We grew a lot of fruit and some vegetables this year. We had a bumper crop of raspberries and blackberries, some of which is still in our freezer.

We bought some garden furniture to sit outside on and enjoy our socially distanced visits from my parents. We even got to go on some lovely walks staying within our county, we’re very lucky to have the coast and the countryside close by.

My youngest daughter showed a keen interest in baking (like most of the country during the first lockdown) so we decided to bake some old favourites as well as some more unusual bakes.

Bottom row l-r: oven baked churros, cinnamon swirls, fifteens, bagels
This year I did a lot of making, it’s surprising how much I did looking back on it. I think it was my sanctuary, the one thing I did have control of in this crazy world. I made lots of gifts for people and some things for myself. I even finished a 5 year old WIP!

I haven’t blogged about everything because I wasn’t feeling it at the time but I hope to do posts at a later date.
So at the end of 2020 I’m looking ahead to 2021, I’ve already made some plans and will share them with you soon.
Take care and stay safe.
Jean X
