I recently made this basket to give to my sister for her birthday. She’s got into crochet (after years of me trying to get her “hooked”) and has been making beautiful little baby blankets for friends.
I thought a little project basket would be ideal and had in my head what I would make but wanted a pattern to follow. I saw on Instagram someone I follow had made a fabric basket and had named the design so after hunting on Etsy I found a pattern/tutorial for sale by the designer Kelbysews .
I had a look in my fabric stash for some green themed fabrics that I knew my sister would like. The Lewis and Irene fabric depicts a Parisian scene (Amy has been to Paris several times), the internal fabric is a lovely shade of green with swirls (don’t know the brand).

The tutorial was easy to follow and suitable for beginners. I should’ve timed myself making it, but I think it probably was about the hour mark.

I enjoyed making the basket (the size is big enough to hold 3 balls of Stylecraft Special DK) and with the pattern I bought I’ll be able to make more of varying sizes, I’ll just need to buy some bigger pieces of fabric 😊.
